Post-Turkey Mention

I forgot to add this one to my Kristine W post...

DJ's Are Alive is what happens when you get real isntruments into the hands of dance music artists. The group is comprised of The Scumfrog, DJ Skribble, Kristine W, D:Fuse and the Static Revenger. All of which have great music under their belt. All of them on one stage, all of them alternating behind the decks, and whoever is not spinning is playing live instruments. It is the ultimate hybrid of DJ Culture and Live Music; the collective that sounds like a DJ set and looks like a band!

I'm hoping the we will one day get more music from them, but till then, this is what we did get...

The Boss needs Some Lovin so you get One More Try to either Save My Soul, Stand In Love or Fly Again. Or else, I'm Letting Go...

Ok, I saw this and couldn't resist cause really, wouldn't YOU want to spend your Thanksgiving with Kristine W while she's petting a giant turkey? Haha!!

In the spirit of both Kristine W and Thanksgiving, I decided to do these.
Kristine is set to (any day now!) come out with a new CD ("The Power Of Music") which includes her cover version of Diana Ross' "The Boss" which I was lucky enough to get a copy of DJ Paul Goodyear's mix (albeit not the highest quality but passible). I believe the one that's going to make it onto the CD is the Tracy Young mix but since this is all I have I, of course, edited it for everyone here!
This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for Kristine! :-)

A Taste of Tel-Aviv

By now, it's no secret that some of the hottest music is coming out of Israel. They've taken dance music and made a sound they call their own with Offer Nissim as their front runner.
However, there are many a DJ over there that's producing some HOT music and I thought it would be nice to give them their day in the sun and showcase some of it! Some of these artists though are difficult to find information on so if I have it, I'll include it here, otherwise, just the song.
First up is is DJ Danny Tuval. As of today Danny is the resident at the all gay party Cruise @ Move in Tel-Aviv in addition to holding two monthly residencies at the FFF (Sirazi) party @ Powder and Freedom at Platinum Club , the biggest club in Eilat.
Danny has also been a special guest at Vox, TLV, Dome, Pacha Tel-Aviv and has been a part of such big productions in Israel like: The Love Parade (1999, 2000, 2002, 2005), Dance City 99, Cinerama Rave in The Millenium (which had 5,000 people), The Gay Parade 2001, 2003 & 2004 where he played on the main stage in front of 15,000 people!!

In Israel he's shared the decks with renouned DJj's such as: Junior Vasquez , Paul Oakenfold, Nick Warren , Satoshi Tomiie , Peace Division , Tom Stephan (Superchumbo) , Mike Cruz , Jo Mills, Tarantella, 'Space' Ibiza Crew and many, many more...
But here, he teams up with fellow producer Zigo with lovely vocals from Carmi to create a stunningly beautiful club thumper called "So Amazing"! Enjoy!
Danny Tuval & Zigo feat Carmi - So Amazing (JM's Original Radio Edit)
http://www.mediafire.com/?8pui2vrwnz6
I first discovered Roie Yamin & Tal Kerman because of a beautiful piano intro mix they did for Offer Nissim/Maya's "Alone" and was very excited to find that they have been producing their own music as well!
Roie Yamin & Tal Kerman feat Lital - Stop (JM's Original Radio Edit)
Roie Yamin & Tal Kerman feat Lital - Say Goodbye (JM's Original Radio Edit)
Moshe Fain was born in 1982 and began his career at only 16, DJing in some of the major clubs and high class private parties in Israel. His big breakthrough was at the Sling Club where he supported his new line of music and his reputation only got bigger and bigger.
After completing his millitary service, he stopped DJing for a while in order to build his studio and he enrolled to BPM Musical College where he took professional sound & mastering courses.
Then he continued his career as a producer and while his reputation was growing, he was invited by Peter Rauhofer to work on Offer Nissim's "Be My Boyfriend Pt. 2" remix. The single was released on the ROXY 5 CD collection and was a huge success all over the world.
Today Fain is part of EXM Records, as the A&R of the electronic music division. His new production FM Project (Fain & Marcus Project) has garnered lots of amazing feedback from DJ's all over the world. While the project is heading onto a world tour, the crew of FM Project has released some of the finest remixes for hit singles like Perry Twins feat Jania - Activate My Body & Rihanna feat Jay Z - Umbrella. Both of which gained lots of plays in radio's & clubs over the world.
This is Moshe's take on Amuka's "Appreciate Me". While it doesn' stray far from the original version at all, this version is a little rougher around the edges which is nice and I tried to keep alot of the beautiful intro Moshe has provided.
Amuka - Appreciate Me 2007 (JM's Moshe Fain Radio Edit)
Amir M & Gal M are another duo who produce some slammin house music who I can't find info on except that Gal M stands for Gal Mustaki which is his full name. If anyone has info, please let me know! Till then...Here's some of the great stuff they've produced!! The first track sounds SO familiar to me...like an old freestyle song. If anyone knows for sure, please tell me! The two Dana International songs, in their original length only come to about 5 1/2 minutes each so I left them alone and just posted them here.
Whitelabel - I'll Never Let You Know (JM's Amir M & Gal M Radio Edit)
Amir M & Gal M feat Dana International - Kiss Your Money Bye Bye (Club Mix)
Amir M & Gal M feat Dana International - Sleeping With Me (Club Mix)
Asi Givati has been literally rocking my socks since I heard his guitar mix of Offer Nissim/Maya's "Alone". The guitar in that song completely gives it more depth and emotion and that's the only mix I play. Since then I've learned that not only is he very young...Somewhere in his early 20's I believe at present but that he plays the guitar live over most of his mixes, which is why these are a little bit longer than edits because I wanted to feature the live guitar solo's.
KMC feat Sandy - Get Better 2006 (JM's Asi Givati Radio Mix)
Knob - I'm Lost (JM's Asi Givati Radio Mix)
Tomer G seems to be the next Israeli DJ on the verge of making it big here in the states. While back in Israel he produced mega-hits over there with "Fuel 2 Fire" and "Supernatural" featuring vocalist Maxine, he's just recently started remixing some of todays top pop hits. Google him, he's also dead sexy! Haha!
First is an official edit from Tomer G for Liz McClarnon's (former member of pop group Atomic Kitten) version of Barbra Streisand's "Woman In Love" and then, even though I already posted it, my edit of Tomer's AMAZING mix of Kat DeLuna's "Whine Up"

It's Murk! It's The Funky Green Dogs! Stop! You're both right!!

If you know one, you know the other.
The core of the Funky Green Dogs (whose full name is The Funky Green Dogs From Outerspace) is the DJ team Murk (Ralph Falcon & Oscar Gaetan).
Murk has produced such memorable hits as "Dark Beat" and "Believe" but it's their work as the Funky Green Dogs that we're talking about right now.
While Murk got together in 1991, in 1996 they added vocalist Pamala Williams and created what would be their first of many great vocal hits, "Fired Up!" off their first CD "Get Fired Up" which became an instant club classic!!
Here, I offer an edit for Junior Vasquez' mix which originally clocked in at 14 minutes!! I was able to get it down to about 5 1/2 minutes which was necessary cause there's some drama in this mix I just HAD to leave in!
Funky Green Dogs - Fired Up (JM's Junior Vasquez Twilo Radio Mix)
However, after the success of the first CD, Pamala Williams left the group and was replaced by Tamara Wallace (pictured above) who's been the groups vocalist ever since.
Tamara's vocal classic with the group comes in the form of 1999's "Body" which Club 69 (read: Peter Rauhofer) produced THEE definitive mix for and I've edited it here as well.
Funky Green Dogs - Body (JM's Club 69 Radio Edit)
And later in 2002, we get another great track from the trio called "Rise Up" which is actually a gospel house song and got a great treatment once again from La Vasquez! :-)
Funky Green Dogs - Rise Up (JM's Junior Vasquez Earth Radio Edit)

Let the music pound and pound! Tell the rhythm to pull you down...On the floor!!!!

This is one of those songs that invokes good memories for me.
Main stage at Limelight once again, any Sunday night.
While there's a bunch of mixes of this one the Heartattack mix (which I think should've been the Hard Attack mix and is a possible typo) is outstanding!!
I'll let the mix speak for itself on this one!
Celeda - Let The Music Use You Up (JM's Heartattck Radio Mix)

What do you say to taking chances? What do you say to jumping off the edge?

If there's one person that no matter what, I've been a fan of, it's Celine.
She's got the voice and I think she's got the looks. And by the looks of this picture, she's got the hair as well!
But back to the voice...Everyone knows it and it's natural it would make it's way to the dancefloor and it has many a time over the years.
Tony Moran's mix of "To Love You More" was amazing as was Thunderpuss' mix of "I Want You To Need Me"--Stunning!!
Even in small room mixes like Metro's mix of "That's The Way It Is", Celine brings it home every time.
I wil go on record as saying that as a full length album, her latest effort "Taking Chances" is easily one of the best albums of 2007. It combines many different styles and of course, her voice sounds flawless! 16 tracks in total (and thats without the bonus tracks!) gives you plenty of Celine for months to come.
The first single and title track "Taking Chances" is a pop/rock midtempo song that shows a different side of Celine. Don't believe me? Watch the video! Hah!
So far, I've found 3 remixes and as much as I love the song AND Celine, the remixes don't really do all that much for me. The I-Soul mix took a good shot but fell short with me with the chord progression. Matt Piso took a different route and made a very simplistic electro track that's very one level. Doesn't go very far and to me, undermines the "umph" of the song. I did however, have the highest hopes for Ralphi Rosario & Craig J's mix but much like the others, it just demeans the could-be-anthem of Celine's delivery. Ralphi and Craig made it more soulful which is nice, but not a floor filler. Ralphi does deliver a pretty interesting Dub though, so check that one out.
But here, as it stands, are my edits. Let's hope for more mixes!!

Mediafire Confusion

Alright...As of now, after spending two days in uploading hell, Mediafire is BACK!

Which Im glad for because that means that the links for all my stuff SHOULD be working with an exception of one or two that I missed.

Moving forward from here, I hope that this doesn't happen again!!!

Thanks for being patient!

Re-Ups! This time with Z Share!

Hey all!

What I've decided to do with the Re-Ups is change the links in the original posts, so make sure if you want to DL a song the link is a Z-Share link. If it's not, then I haven't gotten to it yet...

Thanks!!

~ John Michael ~

ATTENTION!!

Hey everyone! I'm kinda confused and I dunno what's goin on right now cause apparently none of my Mediafile links are working.

For that matter, when I go to log into my Mediafire account like always, it says that I no longer have one. I know that some people were having problems with Mediafire and I wonder if this is an extension of it.

The idea of having to re-upload EVERYTHING scares me a little bit lol but as of right now, I'm gonna hope that they get their shit together and everything goes back to normal.

Until further notice, if there's something I've posted on the blog, send me an email with the songs you'd like and I'll try to get to them as I get time!!!

I apologize but bear with me till I can figure everything out....

Till then, I'm going to start doing as many re-ups (AGAIN!!! GRRRR!!!) as I can!

Mary J's Just Fine!

If I could pick my favorite voice of R&B music, it would definitely be Mary J Blige.
There's passion, experience, heartbreak, joy and love all wrapped up inside of her and she's always been such a purveyor of having a positive attitude, it's hard NOT to like her!
And of course, need I mention the Thunderpuss mix of "No More Drama"? Nuff said!
David Morales brings her new single "Just Fine" to the dancefloor and does a stellar job! Although I feel like he hasn't really updated his sound since "How Would U Feel", it still works for this song...

Crucial Keys

Alicia Keys (Born Alicia J. Augello-Cook) exploded onto the R&B scene in 2001 with her debut, "Songs In A Minor" which spawned the mega-hit "Fallin" and later "A Woman's Worth".
Though her songs have pop sensability to them, she's an R&B artist tried and true. Even making a cameo singing backup and playing piano on Christina Aguilera's "Stripped" CD (on the song "Impossible"), Alicia was able to bring out the soul in X-Tina.
Another album ("The Diary Of Alicia Keys") and three more hits ("If I Ain't Got You", "You Don't Know My Name" and "Karma") secured Alicia's place in the music industry and with a voice like hers and her song-writing talents so publicly known, Alicia surely isn't going anywhere.
Now in 2007, she returns with her cd "As I Am" and "No One" is the lead single. While I don't believe dance remixes have been commissioned for it, Alexander & Mark VDH provided an excellent mix for what I'm sure was a tough vocal to tackle! Enjoy!!

Do an old school dance! Do an old school dance!

What is there to say about Beyonce that hasn't already been said?
I will go on record as saying that I believe she's the best and most consummate performer we have today. Again, only my opinion and when I heard "Get Me Bodied" I was floored!
The original song (produced by Swizz Beats) is a masterpiece all on it's own and to have Hex Hector take it on is a house music wet dream for me!!
What's great about this is not only that he was able to translate this song to the dancefloor but that he used the FULL vocal, aka the 'extended mix' from the original! Amazing!!!
Being such a fan of the original, I laid the original intro over the intro to the radio edit. These are the things that make me happy haha!
Beyonce - Get Me Bodied (JM's Hex Hector Radio Edit)

It's STILL Britney Bitches!!

So since the last Britney edit I posted, I got some more (read: better) mixes of "Gimme More" (and I myself started working on one to throw my two cents in on the Britney remix-mania) and here's my edits.

Britney Spears - Gimme More (JM Gave Jr & Johnny More Britney Radio Mix)

http://www.zshare.net/audio/50160136535172/

This was ALOT of fun for me as I love Junior Vasquez and Johnny Vicious, so I decided to take the accapella for the song, chop it up and add even MORE Britney for your dollar!! Comments always appreciated!

Britney Spears - Gimme More (JM's "Tony Moran" Radio Edit)
http://www.zshare.net/audio/501915741824f7/

This one gets "quotes" around it cause it's not really a Tony Moran mix. It's a mix that someone did using Tony Moran's mix of Brooke Hogan's "About Us" and it's actually pretty good!

More to come!!!

I thought I'd try an idea...

There are many times when I get together with my friends and we'll talk about house music or clubs in general and we always end up telling at least ONE story of a certain club night.

I thought it would be fun to capture some of YOUR stories on here. So here's what I'm looking for...

Submit a story to me that includes in your words a night that you had gone out and a house music song that you connected to in an amazing way. Include the name of the club and the DJ that was playing and of course the song you're talking about.

I'll post a bunch every week and I'll edit the song you tell me about and include it here!!

Hope to hear from you all soon!!!

New artist! New song! New remixes!

Stevie Jewel started her performing career at a very young age with training at the Royal Conservatory of Canada, the Atlanta Academy of Music and currently at the Las Vegas Academy for the Performing Arts. She is one of the youngest performers ever to have performed all over the legendary Vegas strip at such venues as The Venetian Hotel, Casbar at the Sahara Hotel, Montelago Village, the Stratosphere, the Plaza Hotel and the Fashion Show Mall.

Stevie’s debut self-penned track “Seal the Deal” is a collaboration with “Remixer of the Year” Josh Harris. The “Seal the Deal” single will be released this summer and includes remixes from house music giants like Junior Vasquez, Tracy Young, The Perry Twins and Solar City.

My best friend Chris turned me onto this song when he told me that he was hired to do the makeup for this video with Karl Giant (check out Chris' blog here: http://makeupguyny.blogspot.com/ and see the video) and then I heard that Junior was doing a remix for it and I was on board!!

The version I edited was in fact Junior's (of course lol) but I will do the others as well.

Kickin It OLD School!!!

What can be said about the state of house music today?
Well this much I am sure of, it sure as hell ain't what it used to be!!!
Don't get me wrong, remixers are still putting out some slammin stuff...but where are the classics?? Where are the songs you hear and you just can't get enough of!?
The ones that dominate the clubs and they don't go away, ever!!
These next few songs all were monumental in my life. They made me dance around like a moron and at peak hour (if you know what I mean) made me loooooooooooooose my mind!!!
Some of these edits are updated versions of the classics. We all know the original ones so I thought it would be interesting to give a new spin on em. I especially love Hommer's 2007 mix of Derb! Brilliant! Meanwhile, Ralphi Rosario took Razor N Guido's "Do It Again" and added some vocals to it which gave it a more circuity feel. Junior Vasquez provided a few mixes for Jonah's club anthem "Shhh...Be Quiet" and here I edited the original mix he did and his "All Y'All Be Quiet" mix which uses samples from the old school Royal House classic "Can U Party?".
On the other side of the world, Israeli DJ Gil Shwartz took Robert Miles pop trance track "Children" and gave it a little bit more punch. DJ's Skribble and Anthony Acid collaborated to produce an expertly produced update of the Jungle Bros "I'll House You" which is full of fun samples as well.
I also thought that it would be fun to combine Plasmic Honey's "Ride The Trip" with "Take Me To The Top" (and throw some samples of "I Am Ready" in there) since they are similar in their sound.
I also threw in Razor N Guido's unrelenting mix of John Creamer's "Lift Up The Needle" which is just a house music mind fuck and Junior Vasquez's mix of Charlotte's vocal anthem "Skin".
Another classic (for me anyways) is the white label mash-up of Ralphi Rosario's "You Used To Hold Me" with Yaz' 80's classic "Don't Go". I don't know WHO did this mix but I wish they would stand up and get the credit they deserve. I don't know HOW many times I've played this one before!
So, raise a glass to old school house music!! These guys were the pioneers and with their own sound and style, revolutionized the sound of electronic dance music!! All I can say is thanks for all the great memories!!!

Y'all got enough yet...? Lord have mercy!!!!

What can I say about this next artist???
There are singers...and then there's Vernessa Mitchell. If ANYONE knows how to do gospel house right it's her! This woman makes noises I didn't even know were humanly possible!! My nipples are hard just thinkin about it! Hahaha!
Vernessa works with my man Junior alot and as far as I'm concerned, no one gets it out of Vernessa quite like Junior and with her voice and his mixes, everything is anthemic!
On the same token though, it's very difficult to edit a Vernessa Mitchell song. I like to have as many screams, WHOO HOO'S! and ad-libs as possible...But here's the begining of my project!
I have alot of Vernessa so this too will be a continuing thread but these should whet your appetite.

The artist formerly known as ______ ?

There isn't much known about this song except a few things:

- It was on Extreme Records and there was a single released limitedly.
- Iris, to my knowledge, has only released this song.
- Boris and Beck made a SICK mix to it.

I couldn't find a picture to go along with this but I HAD to put this up. This mix is simplistic but haunting. Iris sings lyrics like "Where did you come from? I have searched the world for you and now that I've found you there are no words that can explain. How my world feels so invisible. How your love feels so incredible. All the answers to my questions are now answered..." and it's a love song that doesn't sound like one.

You'll have to trust me and listen.

I don't get down on the first night...

I always wanted to like Monica more than I do but it just never happened...
When I first heard her, it was via the song "I Believe I Can Fly" and I honestly thought that it was man singing. I was confused when I heard the artists name was Monica.
Perhaps it's not her vocal ambiguity that bothered me as maybe it was just her being a victim of bad songs. Aside from this one and maybe "The Boy Is Mine" that's about all the Monica I enjoy.
I was surprised to discover an import single with the Razor N Guido mix of "The First Night" and when I gave it a listen I instantly loved it!! I wish Razor N Guido would get back together cause they've produced some amazing club stompers and this is no exception.

I'll never understand why this happens in America.
We get a taste of an artist, they get one, MAYBE two great hits and then they fall off the radar here!
Daniel Bedingfield is such an artist.
Originally blowing up on the US pop charts with his hit "Gotta Get Thru This", he followed up with this amazing ballad that turned into the wedding song of the year and was even covered on American Idol.
And then, just like that, he disappeared! He's still big in the UK and continues to release music but all we have of the Bedingfield name now in the US is his sister Natasha Bedingfield.
However, what we did get from Daniel was a great remix package which included a mix by the Passengerz but also from Metro (who's a team made up of producer/remixers Brian Rawling, Mark Taylor, Jeff Taylor and Graham Stack. Also the same team that wrote Cher's mega-hit "Believe") .
The Metro mix was very simple and mainstream, a small room kinda mix, but I absolutely loved it!!

It was bound to happen sometime...

First, let me say that I'm sorry I haven't gotten a chance to post in about a week...Crazy times where I'm at and I haven't had a ton of time to edit stuff, let alone post it.
But here we go...and why not start with something rediculous??!!!
So the almighty Barbra has been heard on dancefloors before, of course we all remember her infamous duet with Donna Summer "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)" but since then (with the exception of "The Main Event") it's been awhile since Babs has made her dancefloor return.
Well, I'm happy to say that courtesy of my future ex-husband, Junior Vasquez, he created an anthem that is tribal yet GAY as can be! Haha! And with Barbra at the helm, would you expect anything less??
Taken from her last CD, "Guilty Pleasures" and with back-up vocals by Barry Gibb, I give you "Night Of My Life"! Enjoy!!
