Offer Nissim

I love this man! I had known about him for awhile behind the scenes as the producer for the majority of Dana International's records but when I started looking more into his own projects I was blown away!!

FINALLY someone had come along with a new sound in dance music and gave the front runners something to be worried about! Chock full of Israeli and Middle Eastern influences, he truly brought the gorgeousness back to dance music. His music is as theatrical as he is (go see him live if you ever get the chance--it's surreal!) and he conducts his orchestra as such. He needs no further introduction...

Some of these have been posted before and so I'll just put up the links.

Deborah Cox - Everybody Dance (Offer Nissim Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Offer takes on another Deborah and Tony Moran production and while he simplifies it by only using a portion of the vocals, he makes this summer jam very atmospheric and very Offer. A wonderfully different feel than Tony's and great for peak hour!**

Donna Summer - Power Of Love (JM's Offer Nissim Radio Edit)

Kristine W - The Wonder Of It All (JM's Offer Nissim Black Intro Radio Mix)

Offer Nissim feat Maya - Be My Boyfriend (JM's Radio Edit)
**Quite possibly one of my favorite Offer/Maya songs (I say that about almost every Offer/Maya song btw lol) because after their CD "First Time", this was the first song I had heard that sounded different than all those tracks. I love the vocal stutter right at the beginning. Genius!**

Offer Nissim feat Maya - For Your Love (JM's Radio Edit)
**I have to say, I do like this song alot, but as far as the grand scheme of Offer/Maya songs, this is my least favorite. Good mixes but always felt like a filler song and not as anthemic as most of their others. This song I felt was very under the Peter Rauhofer influence of the one verse-one chorus structure which I'm not a huge fan of. Think Amuka's "Appreciate Me"**

Offer Nissim feat Maya - Heartbreaking (JM's Radio Mix)
**This has a beautiful vocal from Maya and very dreamy synth work by Offer. Definitely one of the standout tracks from the "First Time" CD for me. I was going through a breakup when I got the "First Time" CD and between "Alone" and this song, I felt that Offer and Maya knew just what I was going through! Haha! Especially when you have lyrics like "You promised that you wouldn't leave me when I need you/But you just kept on running away/You promised that you would be there if I'm with you/But you were not there anyway...". **

Offer Nissim feat Maya - On My Own (JM's Radio Edit)
**Following in the trend of "Heartbreaking" we have another breakup song but this time Maya's pissed and she's not having ANY of it!! Lemme put it this way:"I don't need you to tell me what I can do/Where I can go/And I don't need you to tell me what I can know/What I can not know/I don't need you to tell me who I can see/Who I cannot see/I don't need you to tell me who I can be with/Who I can be not/I don't need you to tell me who I can be with tonight/And if it feels right/That is only my right". WORK!**

Offer Nissim feat Maya - Perfect Love (JM's Full Vocal Radio Mix)
**When I first heard this song I had VERY high hopes because I was huge fan of the original House Of Prince version of it. Well I have to say that this mix is just as good as the original without actually being any better because it has some different elements (I gag over his vocal stutters in this one) that work perfectly with the song structure. I love them both equally and the update Offer gave to this song is perfect and Maya sounds amazing as usual. There's another mix, the "Perfect Club Mix" and I don't like it at all. It's the full vocal all the way!**

You make me feel so real... You are my obsession...

::Lick Lick::
Ok, now that we got that outta the way... :-P
Annagrace - You Make Me Feel (Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**When you listen to dance music, you can hear the songs that are indicating that there's a change on the way. That's what I love about music in general but more specifically in dance music. Who's gonna get the new sound and evolve and take us some place new? Well, that's what I couldn't help but think when I heard this song. With the popularity of DJ's like David Guetta and Fedde Le Grand on the rise, it's no surprise to hear people following in their footsteps. This is the case with the brains behind Annagrace. DJ Peter Luts and Ian Van Dahl vocalist Annemie Coenen bring very specific elements to the song. Annemie's dead on vocals with Peter Luts slick production collide to make a pop/trance sound all their own. I won't stop playing this one anytime soon!**
Bimbo Jones - And I Try (JM's Radio Edit)
**ANTHEM ALERT!!! ANTHEM ALERT!!! If you download ONE song this summer, this is it!!! Katherine Ellis (who's popping up everywhere lately) KILLED it with the vocals in this track! And Bimbo Jones? Well, do we really even need to go there?? The beat is sick as is the total production of this song!! This one drives me NUTS!!!**
Chris "The Greek" Panaghi - My Life (Josh Harris Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Josh really goes out of his way to bring the funk to this track and it works!! This one makes you wanna roll the windows down and cruise at high speeds. A positive groove and a positive message make it near impossible NOT to!!**
Kim Sozzi - Like A Star (Frank Lamboy Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**I posted the original version of this and I was only feeling this song about 40% and then I found this...and now I'm feeling it about 50% lol...Slightly better but still just 'eh' for me. Frank Lamboy (of Friscia & The Lamboy and Andy & The Lamboy) steps out on his own and turns out a fun production but still...'eh'...C'mon Kim! I know you can do it!!!**
Lucas Prata feat Jeannie Ortega - A Girl Like That (Giuseppe D Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Ok!! I know what you're thinking. Lucas Prata?? REALLY?? And you're right--This is beyond cheese!! And I also admit that this is a VERY guilty pleasure but sometimes when you go to the Jersey Shore to watch the guido's pump their fists, some of the music sticks with you!! And does anything scream guido fist pumper like Lucas Prata?? So yeah, I feel justified! Like it or not, it's fun and I like it! Besides, Giuseppe D always turns out a solid production!**
Nadia Ali - Crash & Burn (JM's DJ Shah Magic Island Radio Edit)
**We all know her as the voice of Iio who brought us "Rapture" but if this doesn't help make her mark as a solo artist than nothing will. DJ Shah's simply gorgeous production and Nadia's smooth delivery adds a sexiness that you don't find in many dance songs anymore. Another favorite summer song for me.**
Offer Nissim feat Maya - Happy People (JM's Peter Rauhofer Reconstruction Radio Edit)
**I promised an Offer Nissim post and I will make one, but since this is Peter's mix, it doesn't count. Besides, it's MY blog and I can do what I want! Hahaha! I did have to include this and give Peter props for turning out a very solid mix here!! This always seemed like a 'throw-away' Offer song to me but Peter made it very relevant! Bravo!**
Robert Clivilles feat C&C Music Factory - Work That Body (Alex Gaudino Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Hm. Wasn't this song released last summer by Bob Sinclar under the name "Rock This Party"?? Im sorry, I know this is a good summer song and all but really, without the "Everybody Dance Now" sample that Bob Sinclar used, this to me might as well be the same track. This will get people moving and it's fun, but I can take it or leave it. Alex Gaudino did make the best of it though and his mix is my favorite if I had to pick one.**
Shirley Bassey - La Passione (JM's Offer Nissim Happy People Radio Edit)
**Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. This one blew me away when I first heard it!! I was surprised to learn that this song is only from 1996. I thought this was much older, but it turns out it was from a movie of the same name and originally a duet with Chris Rea. On the soundtrack there's a version with the duet and then another version aptly named "Disco La Passione". Well, if it wasn't a dance song before, it sure as hell is now. Offer WERQS it out in a way that makes me want to scream HELLEAUX and lots of other words with alternate gay spellings!!! Unfortunately there's been no proper released for this mix and I had to work with the version on Offer's latest double disc compilation "Happy People". I love the way this came out and I can only hope that Offer will A) release a full mix for this and B) do a full vocal mix for this as well!!**

Just a little bit more for now

So since I've been busting my ass in school (cause I'm such a good student! lol) I haven't gotten to post in awhile nor have I been able to get to requests, but they are all duly noted and will be done SOMEtime!!

For now, I offer these...

Debbie Holliday - Bring It On (JM's Joe Bermudez Radio Edit)
**ANTHEM!!! Gotta love Debbie, especially when she sings "Does anybody want it? Does anybody need it tonight? I do! I do! I do! I do!" and lemme tell ya--You will too!! Great thumper here from Joe Bermudez who I actually had the pleasure of opening for at Boulevard in NYC a few years back! A great remixer, cute and such a nice guy as well!!**
http://www.mediafire.com/?mtjm434stng

Ivry Lider - Beautiful Eyes (JM's Offer Nissim Oriental Radio Reconstruction)
**DOES ANYONE HAVE THE FULL LENGTH OF THIS!!??? I heard this a number of years and became obsessed. Granted, it's not in English (it's in Hebrew) but the beats are HOT!! Unfortunately I only have this song that I ripped from a compilation released by Offer over in Israel. And Ivry's voice is hot as hell...It doesn't really matter what language it's in.**
http://www.mediafire.com/?mzlcfzejssm

Laszlo Panaflex - Dance To The Music (JM's Luis Erre Babylon Radio Edit)
**Can Luis Erre do any wrong? I've yet to find a mix of his I don't like. His sound is tough enough and rugged around the edges that it could easily be worked into any Saturday night in NYC. And I know that this was a Star 69 record originally, but sorry, this mix easily blows all the others away.**
http://www.mediafire.com/?i0nhyd2tndy

Offer Nissim feat Maya - Alone (JM's Roie-Asi Mixshow Edit)
**This is easily the best song these two have ever collaborated on. The vocals, the lyrics, Offer's production all add up to pure gold. Roie Yamin made a gorgeous intro for the mix and Asi Givati added some SICK electric guitar over Offer's original mix which takes it all to the next level. I can't listen to the original without the guitar. I combined Asi's mix with Roie's intro to make this. It's a hard song to edit, especially with the guitar in it so I left alot of it alone which is why I labeled this as a mixshow.**
http://www.mediafire.com/?2c2zx0j1bi0

Offer Nissim feat Maya - On My Own (JM's Tony Moran Radio Mix)
**Another stunner by Offer & Maya--And btw I urge you all to get your hands on the new Offer compilation "Happy People" if for no other reason than the Offer/Maya tracks as well as Offer's INCREDIBLE take on Shirley Bassey's "La Passione". However, this mix got a great treatment by Tony Moran and while it's not amazingly different than the original, Tony's beat does give it a little something special.**
http://www.mediafire.com/?zgeeg1g2jtc

Rich Luzzi - It's Over (JM's Eddie Baez Radio Edit)
**This is a GREAT song by Rich (who gave us the anthem "Without You") and this was intended for a full release which never saw the light of day. All I have is this so-so quality version. If anyone has a better copy, it would be greatly appreciated! But till then, enjoy this one. I gag when Rich (who's hot as hell!) says "You've run out of time/You're just fucking with my mind/Well just walk right out that door/Cause our love don't live here no more" ::drool::**

So whatcha gonna do??... Why did you take it all away? Why did you have nothing to say?

Once again I had to feature Offer Nissim and Maya. Easily one of the best collaborations to ever come out of dance music history, this song is a prime example as to why.

"Heartbreaking" has such haunting lyrics by Maya and the sultry synths Offer provides shows just how well these two work together.

Now, as far as Offer tracks go, his original tracks are pretty tough to beat. There are very few remixes of his Maya songs that come close to what their original intentions were...let alone work as well.

However, Jose Spinnin took "Be My Boyfriend" and turned it OUT! The beat is a heavy thump-thump and the synths give this mix a reeeeeeally nice punch! BUT it's the breakdown at around 2:30 that sells this mix! Total genious!!!

The Digital Diva

Billed as The Digital Diva, Suzanne Palmer has the same problem that Kristine W tends to have: They're two of the best vocalists you've never heard of.

Suzanne's big break came in the form of 1998's "Much Better" where she was the vocalist on the Club 69 track that went to number 1.

Her remake of Diana Ross' "Muscles" also did very well for her via Club 69 (check out the Razor N Guido mix!) but it wouldn't be until her cover of Kosheen's "Hide U" that would put her on the map again (check out Junior's mix of this one!).

Since then she released her second CD "Home" on Star 69 records (her first debut album never saw the light of day due to the folding of the record label, Twisted UK, she was on) where she works with some of the best people in the dance music industry.

Eric Kupper (who produced the single "Fascinated", a Company B remake), Cevin Fisher ("Luv 2 Luv" & "Eye Can See U" - The latter will soon be the next single), Dezrok ("One Day") and of course Peter Rauhofer over-seeing the whole project, made this album a varied and exceptional listen-thru.

This is what a real dance music CD should sound like.

This song, "Keep The Faith", originally produced by Rauhofer, had an exceptional mix by Offer Nissim on the CD single release. Her vocals soar through the rafters on this one and of course, Offer's beats give the song the punch it needs!

A house music obsession of mine

Long before I really knew who Offer Nissim was I was listening to his music. I discovered an Israeli singer by the name of Dana International and at the time Offer was producing all of her music. Little did I know what this man was actually capable of.

Then, the dance music juggernaut "First Time" blew up all over dance floors around the world and a new sound (in the US anyway) had surfaced. The beats were tough but the vocals, courtesy of 28 year old Maya Siman-Tov, were angelic and tender.

Maya was first introduced to Yinon Yahel (Offer's right hand man) at a friends studio in Israel and fate it seemed had begun to take it's course. Yinon and Maya recorded their first song together and Yinon later introduced her to Offer.

The trio made for an amazing collaboration and I've yet to find a song by them that I DON'T like! Their first effort, "First Time" is a collection of dance tracks that just doesn't quit! I highly reccommend this to everyone! It was hailed as one of Israel's all time best dance albums.

As a DJ, Offer has an incredible amount of energy and his sets are non-stop fun from start to finish. There will be PLENTY of Offer music featured on this blog as, aside from Junior Vasquez and Tony Moran, Offer is one of my all time favorites!

Meanwhile back at the W ranch...

What can I possibly say about Miss Kristine W?

She is arguably the best voice in dance music we've got. She's gorgeous, multi-talented (she plays numerous instruments) and she hold the Billboard record for the the most number one consecutive dance songs by any artist (beating out Madonna & Janet Jackson).

Till Celine Dion came to Las Vegas, she was Vegas' highest paid performer! Vegas actually designated a "Kristine W Day"!

Mother of 2 and a survivor of Acute Mycleod Leukemia, nothing has stopped her from getting out her messages of hope and positivity.

I've met her on several accounts and her talent is backed up by her bubbly and down-to-earth personality. I really can't say enough about this woman!

Part of what makes Kristine so great is her ability to work with producers who know how to get the best out of her.
To me, I truly believe that Junior Vasquez (pictured here with Kristine) is able to do just that.
He was the first person to introduce her to club land one magical night at Soundfactory in NYC when she walked out onto the stage and no one could believe she was actually a white girl!!
Since then, their collaborations have resulted in some amazing pieces of clubland drama!
Kristine, Im sure, will get featured here time and again but here are 3 edits that I've done to get the ball rolling:
Kristine W - Be Alright (JM's Offer Nissim Dub Radio Edit)
- This song was featured on Offer Nissim's double disc effort "Forever Tel-Aviv" CD and when I got the chance to meet Kristine in Baltimore, I asked her about and as it turns out, this is only a DUB! There's a full vocal on the way (dear GOD any day now!) which I am DYING to hear!! Till then, there's this!

Kristine W - The Wonder Of It All (JM's Offer Nissim Black Intro Radio Edit)
- Long before Offer Nissim made his way to America, he was a superstar DJ hailing from Tel Aviv. Over in Tel Aviv, and only available as imports, were 3 CD's he released including one of all original productions/mixes. The CD titled "Offer Nissim" included the "Intro Mix" of this song which is something that Offer is famous for doing. He lives for the drama (watch him DJ for 30 min!) and you'll see what I mean when you hear this.
Kristine W - Land Of The Living (JM's Junior Vasquez New Vocal Radio Edit)
- ANTHEM ALERT!!! She WAILS on this one!!! I can't get enough of this! This is one of the songs that started it all and this is how anthems should sound! I live for Junior's loop of "In the music...In-In the music..."
