Randomness

I know it's been awhile everyone but I started a really crazy schedule after I got back from celebrating my anniversary and 3 days a week I do 12 hour days, so I'm gonna try to do what I can, but it may just take me some time to get stuff up! Thanks for understanding!!

The requests I've gotten will get worked on, but till then, I offer some random edits...

Oh and that pic? Yeah that's me from a LONG time ago when I was DJing at Heaven in NYC (2nd floor--Spinnin "X" by Junior Vasquez"--It's all about the vinyl baby!!) and I was probably like 22/23-ish! Ah the good ol days! Hah!!
Bob Sinclar presents Fireball - What I Want (Chris Cox Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**This is a slammin new track from both Bob Sinclar and Chris Cox and it's getting alot of play and I'm sure you're gonna it! This is a really fun, albeit a little strange, male vocal here and Chris' production amps it up--ALOT!!**
Charlotte Perrelli - Hero (JM's Club Radio Edit)
**She looks like Kristine W and sounds like a love child of Jenna Drey, Danielle Bollinger and Lara Fabian. In her home country of Sweden, this won the 2008 Melodifestivalen (which is the contest that Sweden has to determine who's representing them in the Eurovision song contest) and when she got to the Eurovision contest she placed 18th. In the charts though this went right to #1 in Sweden and was in the top 20 of a few other countries. The song is a great vocal with a very electro, yet Soundfactory type sound to it. I don't know who actually produced this as I got it labeled as "Extended Club Mix" (does anyone know??) but it's a great song all over and needs to be recognized!!**
Chris Brown - Forever (JM's Bobby Bass & J Remy Radio Edit)
**This is definitely one of my new obsession songs (especially after seeing it on So You Think You Can Dance). I have to say, I'm really happy with the direction that pop/R&B music is going these days. They've got great beats with awesome synth work and hooks for days! This song in it's original form was just begging to come to the dance floor and through the work of Bobby Bass & J Remy it got there. Who they are, I'm not sure, but from all the mixes I've heard thus far this is definitely the best. It's got some beat changes and a really uplifiting sound that keeps with the original. In the beginning I added the original intro synths and the "1,2,3,4" chant to give it a little extra UMPH!**
Coldplay - Viva La Vida (JM's Telemitry Radio Edit)
**I LOVE THIS SONG!!! Finally, me and the hubby have another song we meet on! He's always been a huge Coldplay fan and well, I couldn't really care less about them lol...that is...till I heard this song!! I instantly fell in love with it because of it's melody and string line that they use as well as the song having a pretty steady beat to it. I've found a few mixes of this song (including that AWFUL cover that Almighty did--Good mix, just terrible female vocals) and as it stands, this is the best. I'm looking for the accapella for this song so I too can make my own mix--If anyone out there has it, I'd be EVER so greatful!! This mix though has some great vocal stutters and whoever Telemitry is, they are to be commended for making such a great mix with the original track which usually doesn't work out so well for most!**
Duffy - Mercy (JM's Gareth Wyn Radio Edit)
**This was a song I was sleeping on for awhile and then (again) I saw this on So You Think You Can Dance and fell in love with it. In it's original form, it's very Amy Winehouse-esque minus the whole Meth addiction lol. Gareth Wyn (whoever he may be) did a fantastic job in bringing this to the dance floor and it sounds so natural, something I would've never expected this song to sound like with a beat. Highly reccommended here!!!**
Earth, Wind & Fire - Boogie Wonderland (Bimbo Jones Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**It was bound to happen right?? Well it's finally come to be and I have to say while the original is a disco classic and all, it was never one of my favorites. Bimbo Jones however does have that magic touch and they gave this such a fresh sound that if it wasn't for the backup singers doing their "Dance! Boogie Wonderland" chanting, this could easily have been recording and produced yesterday. I swear I'm gonna make a "I Heart Bimbo Jones" t-shirt one day!**
Jennifer Hudson - Spotlight (Hotwheel Fidelity Mix) **Official Mix**
**I got this mix the other day and since the mix was only 4 min and change, there was nothing to edit for me. This is a slightly faster version than the original and the beat is very Michael Jackson "Billie Jean" and it's awesome! I wish there was a longer version of this!! Enjoy!!**
Rihanna - Disturbia (Aaron Paetsch Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**I posted the Jody den Broeder even tho it wasn't my favorite and then I got this and I definitely like this one better. The production actually goes somewhere and Aaron really did a great job here with a really nice synth string line that runs through most of the mix.**
Sara Bareilles - Love Song (JM's Hommer Radio Edit)
**I have to admit, I really didn't care for this song when I first heard it--But glory be to Hommer (I still don't know who they are) for making this mix because I can definitely get sink my teeth into this now. It's a really cute song and I actually started this edit with the original version and then went into the Hommer mix. It's alot of fun so enjoy!!**
Tiffany - Just Another Day (Dave Aude Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Yes, THAT Tiffany. This is an ok song. I'm not thrilled by it, even tho Dave Aude does put out a good mix here but Tiffany's vocals sound a little uninspired. I know she can do better than this, I don't know what she's waiting for.**
Velvet - Take My Body Close (Pitchline Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Swedish singer Velvet (aka Jenny Marielle Pettersson) has been putting out some great music in her homeland since 2005 and this is her most recent effort and it's STUNNING!! Her voice is very solid and Pitcline's electro production is the perfect marriage of vocal and mix!! Another highly reccommended track!! If you enjoy September then I think you'll enjoy this as well!**

Thunderpuss & Junior & Hex--Oh My!!

Ok, so HOW cool is that iPod dock!! I want it!!!
Since I've had a bunch of tracks for separate posts featuring these DJ's, I figured I'd combine them all. You know...A little of column A, some of column B....
And I'm sorry I haven't posted a lot but I've been busy at school (which is ALMOST over--Thank God!) but this week I have summer break so I'll hopefully be able to get a bunch of stuff out to you all!!
Backstreet Boys - The Call (Thunderpuss Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**This was one of the first songs that saw BSB making the bridge from teen pop idols to more mature men and has them singing about cheating on their respective others. While in the song it ended badly, this mix is anything but!! Super high energy from Thunderpuss here and with a really great vocal breakdown, this mix is definitely irresistible for me!**
Britney Spears - I'm A Slave 4 U (Thunderpuss Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**I have to admit, when I first heard this mix I really wasn't a fan. The piano chords seemed off to me and I guess I wanted something a little different from the boys. Well the more I listened to it, the more I started to enjoy it and the way they used Britney's spoken vocals in this is so awesome!! Definitely a fun mix!**
Hilary Duff - So Yesterday (Thunderpuss Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**This mix marked a very sad day for me for it was to be Thunderpuss' very last collaboration. All through to the end though, they put their all in it and delivered a great mix! The song is cheesy but it works well with the beat. It's a straight up mainstream pop remix with, of course, lots of energy!**
Pet Shop Boys - NYC Boy (Thunderpuss Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Omg! I love this song! Haha! I was SO obsessed with this when it came out!! PSB came back with a vengeance and this song headed straight to the #1 spot on the dance charts. At the time (1999) I was heavily involved in the NYC club scene so naturally I assumed that this song was written about ME! Hahaha!! Thunderpuss did SUCH an incredible job but all the mixes to this were great from Superchumbo to Almighty and Lange, everyone involved gave it their all!**
Aqua - Around The World (Junior Vasquez Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Ok, so we all know Aqua from their cheese-smash hit "Barbie Girl" but there was life for the group after that. This song, the second single from their second CD "Aquarius" had Aqua changing their "Barbie Girl" style to a more anthemic sound and who better to take that on than Junior?? Say what you want, but I always thought this was a slammin mix because the melody and structure of the song allow for a very grandiose production from Junior and that's where I like him best! The original mix which clocks in at 13 min & 40 sec here gets trimmed down to about 4 and change. Definitely get ahold of the full mix. It's totally worth it!!**
Laura Turner - Soul Deep (JM's Junior Vasquez Radio Edit)
**Laura Turner to me, is one part Sarah Brightman and one part Delerium. Being that she sounds very similar to Sarah Brightman, I immediately loved this song when I got a promo of the original. I was VERY shocked to see that this song made it's way to Junior's lap. Junior takes the song as far away from the original as possible, giving her voice a nice echo effect and using some real tribal drums throughout.**
Anastacia - I'm Outta Love (Hex Hector Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**This was the song that started my love affair with Anastacia (born Anastacia Lyn Newkirk). At this time I was basically in Sam Goody every day ravaging the CD single section looking for anything that had Hex Hector, Junior Vasquez, Tony Moran & Thunderpuss on it. When I found this, I didn't really know who she was but if it had Hex on the single, it was good enough for me! THANK GOD I bought this!! Anastacia's first single (which got to #2 on the dance charts) is a stunner all around! A fantastic vocal from Anastacia (she became my new Taylor Dayne) and a thumping mix from Hex made for some dance music drama which still holds up today! Also I'm very excited because Anastacia is supposed to be releasing her new CD "Heavy Rotation" on October 24th of this year!!**
Jessica Simpson - Irresistable (Hex Hector Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Jessica's lead single from her third CD of the same name started to show a slightly more mature Jessica and definitely a sexier Jessica as she sings about how irresistible her beau is. And when that beau is Nick Lachey, who can blame her? ::swoon:: This song only got to #15 on the Hot 100 charts but also peaked at #3 on the Top 40 Mainstream charts. It didn't chart on the dance charts at all, but thats ok because Hex and Dezrok really gave a stunning mix as always!**
Kina - Girl From The Gutter (Hex Hector Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**ANTHEM ALERT!!! I don't know if I have any other words for this one but DOWNLOAD IT!! If you know it, then you know it, if you don't know it, it will change your life! Hahaha!! Everything about this mix is perfect! From Kina's vocals to Hex & Mac Quayle's anthemic remix, it tears through any dance floor with ease!**
Lisa Stansfield - I'm Leavin (Hex Hector Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Classic classic classic!!! Lisa sounds beautiful as always as she breezes through Hex's remix which has her telling off her man. My favorite lyric is "How could I be so dumb?/I thought I loved a man/But more and more you proved to be a boy/And now I understand/But I can't babysit no more/That's not what I loved you for/I'd rather be alone/Bye bye/Cause I'm really leaving this time..."**
Pink - You Make Me Sick (HQ2 Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Hex & Mac take on bad girl Pink's third single from her debut "Can't Take Me Home" and while it only made it to #23 on the dance charts, this is definitely a mix that's endured the test of time as I've seen it still make a dance floor erupt every now and then when played.**
Reina - Anything For Love (Hex Hector Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Reina's second single and collaboration with Hex Hector & Mac Quayle after the anthemic "Find Another Woman" has Reina in familiar territory. This song has very much the same structure of "Find Another Woman" but instead of being annoyed at her man, she's telling us all how she'd "live for love and die for love" and Hex & Mac are standing right by her side! lol Definitely a fun track!!**
Stars On 54 - If You Could Read My Mind (Hex Hector Epic Piano Mix) **Official Edit**
**Amber, Jocelyn Enriquez & Ultra Nate get a GORGEOUS treatment here by the Hex/Dezrok camp and Dezrok's keyboard work really gets its time to shine. No beats on this one, only gorgeous keyboards, dreamy synths and a lush arrangement just make you wanna float away!**
Bonus Edit: This one is a special request from DM (I hope you like it!) and has to be one of the most challenging mixes I've ever taken on. The first 45 seconds were a nightmare for me as I was wracking my brain trying to chop out Thunderpuss' very long intro to this mix. This one was never officially released but thank God it leaked. I never understood why the Above & Beyond mix was such a big to-do with this song as it just never really did anything for me, and the mix was even used in the video for this song as well. ::shrug::
This mix also had a lot of controversy surrounding it as Barry Harris explained in an interview with About.com. This also shows the negative effect mis-labeling mixes can cause. It's one of my biggest pet peeves:
Barry Harris: We did what I thought was a really kick-ass job of "What It Feels Like For A Girl," and we did it early, like two or three months ahead of time. Everybody knew that we were working on it and someone somewhere took the original album version of "What It Feels Like For A Girl," put it on the net and said it was a Thunderpuss mix. That's all they had to do, and that messed everything up. Someone at Warners said they saw a Thunderpuss mix was already on the net and people are already downloading it. That started this fire within the record company and Madonna, and we were like "no, it's not our mix", we have not done anything. They just cancelled our entire mix, period, and that was it, the end of story. It's that simple. We worked with them again later and everything was cool. But it was just such an annoying, stupid reaction that people freaked-out over what wasn't true and our mix wasn't on there, when we worked so very hard and put so much blood, hard guts and soul into it. We did three recalls, because we weren't happy with it. We'd play it out on the weekends and put a lot of heart into that, only to have that stupid situation snuff it out. That was rather disappointing, but I'm over it now. There's my whine story for ya!

Offer Nissim

I love this man! I had known about him for awhile behind the scenes as the producer for the majority of Dana International's records but when I started looking more into his own projects I was blown away!!

FINALLY someone had come along with a new sound in dance music and gave the front runners something to be worried about! Chock full of Israeli and Middle Eastern influences, he truly brought the gorgeousness back to dance music. His music is as theatrical as he is (go see him live if you ever get the chance--it's surreal!) and he conducts his orchestra as such. He needs no further introduction...

Some of these have been posted before and so I'll just put up the links.

Deborah Cox - Everybody Dance (Offer Nissim Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Offer takes on another Deborah and Tony Moran production and while he simplifies it by only using a portion of the vocals, he makes this summer jam very atmospheric and very Offer. A wonderfully different feel than Tony's and great for peak hour!**

Donna Summer - Power Of Love (JM's Offer Nissim Radio Edit)
http://www.mediafire.com/?ggwmkpv8ulv

Kristine W - The Wonder Of It All (JM's Offer Nissim Black Intro Radio Mix)
http://www.mediafire.com/?xjnt3qbmhwo

Offer Nissim feat Maya - Be My Boyfriend (JM's Radio Edit)
**Quite possibly one of my favorite Offer/Maya songs (I say that about almost every Offer/Maya song btw lol) because after their CD "First Time", this was the first song I had heard that sounded different than all those tracks. I love the vocal stutter right at the beginning. Genius!**
http://www.mediafire.com/?eyc5ajldi0h

Offer Nissim feat Maya - For Your Love (JM's Radio Edit)
**I have to say, I do like this song alot, but as far as the grand scheme of Offer/Maya songs, this is my least favorite. Good mixes but always felt like a filler song and not as anthemic as most of their others. This song I felt was very under the Peter Rauhofer influence of the one verse-one chorus structure which I'm not a huge fan of. Think Amuka's "Appreciate Me"**

Offer Nissim feat Maya - Heartbreaking (JM's Radio Mix)
**This has a beautiful vocal from Maya and very dreamy synth work by Offer. Definitely one of the standout tracks from the "First Time" CD for me. I was going through a breakup when I got the "First Time" CD and between "Alone" and this song, I felt that Offer and Maya knew just what I was going through! Haha! Especially when you have lyrics like "You promised that you wouldn't leave me when I need you/But you just kept on running away/You promised that you would be there if I'm with you/But you were not there anyway...". **

Offer Nissim feat Maya - On My Own (JM's Radio Edit)
**Following in the trend of "Heartbreaking" we have another breakup song but this time Maya's pissed and she's not having ANY of it!! Lemme put it this way:"I don't need you to tell me what I can do/Where I can go/And I don't need you to tell me what I can know/What I can not know/I don't need you to tell me who I can see/Who I cannot see/I don't need you to tell me who I can be with/Who I can be not/I don't need you to tell me who I can be with tonight/And if it feels right/That is only my right". WORK!**

Offer Nissim feat Maya - Perfect Love (JM's Full Vocal Radio Mix)
**When I first heard this song I had VERY high hopes because I was huge fan of the original House Of Prince version of it. Well I have to say that this mix is just as good as the original without actually being any better because it has some different elements (I gag over his vocal stutters in this one) that work perfectly with the song structure. I love them both equally and the update Offer gave to this song is perfect and Maya sounds amazing as usual. There's another mix, the "Perfect Club Mix" and I don't like it at all. It's the full vocal all the way!**

Jonathan Peters (Part Two)

Ewan McGregor - Your Song (JM's Jonathan Peters Radio Edit)
**Was anyone else as obsessed with Moulin Rouge when it came out as I was?? I immediately fell in love with the movie and Ewan McGregor! Ewan was SO good in the movie and I had no idea he could sing!! Never did I think that it would get to the clubs so imagine my surprise hearing THIS out one night (I GAGGED!!)!! JP really made a great mix here using alot (but unfortunately not all) of the vocals Ewan gave us and this mix can be a little repetative sometimes as JP loops the "Hope you don't mind. I hope you don't mind that I put down in words how wonderful life is now you're in the world..." lyric over and over...But I fixed all that! Hah!**
Janet Jackson - Doesn't Really Matter (JM's Jonathan Peters Radio Edit)
**I love the versatility that DJ's have. That's one of the main reasons I love dance music. It really allows for any type of creativity to be expressed in so many different forms. It actually took me a long time to appreciate this mix. Janet gives a fun pop vocal but not a strong vocal in this one and I didn't think it would hold up under a heavy dance beat. Well, JP must've felt the same way because he definitely toned it down for this mix, lowering the BPM and giving us a wonderfully lush arrangement of conga drums, guitars, winds and strings which make this mix float by and kinda make me wanna just sit by a pool and drink margaritas all day! Haha!**
Jessica Folker - To Be Able To Love (Jonathan Peters Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**CLASSIC ALERT!!! Part Swedish part Sengalese, Jessica gives one of the most outstanding pop vocals to ever be remixed! Unfortunately, we here in America only gave her this one chance to show us what she's got but Jessica had a very successful career overseas and continued to release music till 2007. If you can track it down, I highly reccommend her CD "Dino". It's one of the most well produced Pop CD's I've ever heard and Jessica's voice is simply stunning! Did you know that Jessica's actual last name is "Folcker" but so many Americans were pronouncing it "fucker" that she dropped the "c" when it came time for the release of this song? So rediculous! lol**
Kim Sozzi - Feelin Me (JM's Jonathan Peters Radio Edit)
**We all know the Hex Hector mix of this huge mainstream club hit, but I was surprised to see that JP mixed this as well and I actually prefer his mix to Hex's. It's got much more of a rough around the edges feel and I love the build up he created for the bridge at 2:30.**
Luz Divina - I Just Want To Love You (JM's Jonathan Peters Radio Mix)
**This song makes me melt. Period. Luz has one of the most gorgeous voices to ever grace the dancefloor and this song, unfortunately, never saw a proper release when Luz released her CD "The Other Side" but managed to leak anyway. Easily one of the best Luz songs I've ever heard both lyrically and production wise. Luz gives us a very ethereal vocal here and JP's mix is very understated which pairs beautifully with the song. STUNNING!**
Luz Divina - In Your Eyes (JM's Jonathan Peters Mixshow Edit)
**Ok, I admit it, I just don't know how to get this mix ANY shorter than this, and this one clocks in at 7:10! I've heard many versions of this mix with many different vocals as Luz has recorded this song a few times, with different lyrics and different productions by JP. This, to my knowledge, is the most complete version produced, and the original comes in around 12 minutes so while this one is 7 minutes long, it is ALL vocal and I defy you to find me a more passionate dancefloor vocal than this on!!**
Nomad - I Wonder (JM's Jonathan Peters Maharishi Radio Mix)
**I posted the Junior Vasquez edit of this, and I love his mix, but this one is really just a take no prisoners kinda mix. It still has that middle eastern feel to it, but JP brings in some of the hardest and most distorted synths I've ever heard!! This mix is just sheer insanity!!**
Shannon - Give Me Tonight (JM's Jonathan Peters Radio Edit)
**Again, we all know the Hex/Dezrok mix of this, but JP once again flips the script and brings this 80's classic to a place it never intended to be. It's SO much harder and much more agressive than Hex's mix and I love that he uses the original whip noise in this one--This one MUST be played at loud volumes for maximum appreciation!!**
TRF - Bravestory (JM's Jonathan Peters Radio Edit)
**I always find it interesting when these DJ's remix non-English speaking artists because I've always wondered if the process is different. Like, how do they know which lyric sample to use? What should they be looping?? How do they know they're not just sampling the word "The" over and over again because it's in Japanese or whatever the language is?? Well, TRF (which actually stands for Tetsuya Komuro Rave Factory) is a Japanese band (made up of DJ Koo, Vocalist Yu-Ki and dancers Chiharu, Etsu & Sam), but they decided here to try their hand at English. Sometimes it works and sometimes, not so much lol. The vocal I've always enjoyed and TRF continues to enjoy success to this day in Japan. JP takes on this song originally released in 1996 but TRF has also been remixed by Thunderpuss, Soul Solution and Dezrok to name a few!**
