The Songs That Got Away: Part Two

Diana Ross - Until We Meet Again (Love To Infinity Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Back in 1998 when Cher came out with "Believe" it took the world by storm. It's only natural that other would follow in the steps of Cher with a similar formula. Listen to Tina Turner's "When The Heartache Is Over". Produced by the same team, sounds very similar to "Believe".
Well Diana Ross got the same treatment with "Until We Meet Again" which originally was a ballad from her "Every Day Is A New Day" cd but Love To Infinity turned it into a pop radio friendly dance track which mimic's the "Believe" formula.**

Diana Ross - Until We Meet Again (Hex Hector Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Hex rocked it on this one! While Love To Infinity made the song 'cute', Hex kicked it up a notch and made a great vocal anthem!**

Jenna Drey - By The Way (Al B Rich Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**This is easily one of the most beautiful dance songs out there. Lyrically, the song is gorgeous and with Jenna's incredible vocals and Al B Rich's simple yet effective production, the combination makes a dance song that's 'wedding song' worthy. If you can, check out the ballad version of this one as well! Stunning!**

Gloria Estefan - I'm Not Giving You Up (Tony Moran Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**I've always been a fan of turning a ballad into a dance song and this is one of my favorites! For me, Gloria put out her best work when she was working with Tony Moran and before he produced her "Gloria" CD, there was this mix of this heartbreaking ballad.**

Information Society - Running (Victor Calderone Leather Radio Edit)
**Official Edit**
**Quite possibly one of the best updates of a song I've ever heard. Victor rips this one apart!! This was a Sunday night Limelight classic for me and this mix is as effective now as it ever was!**

Meja - It's All About The Money (Hector's Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**I was working in the mall at the time when this song came out and the store I was at had these awful videos that we had to play all day long with the same stuff on them...over and over and over... Every once in awhile we got good stuff on there (one even had Kristine W on it!) and such was the case with this one. I thought it was a mislabel for Hex Hector but it's not. And even though the BPM's are a little low in this and it's more of a pop song than anything else, I think it's adorable and worth sharing here!**

Shakira - Objection (Tango) (Eric Kupper Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**I loved the original of this song (the video is hysterical as well) and was surprised to see this translate well to the dancefloor. Eric Kupper gave it a very deep 'Donna-Summer-I-Feel-Love' vibe and it works very well!**

Bette Midler - In These Shoes (JM's Jonathan Peters Vox Radio Edit)
**I love Jonathan Peters but some of his mixes are not the type of mixes you could play at just any venue. This one for instance would sound a little over the top at your local gay club, but for Soundfactory Saturday nights, it's just old hat to them. Any mix that starts off with Bette Midler screaming "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" has to be great, right?? So here's my best shot and trimming down this massive thump-a-thump!**

The Songs That Got Away

I know I've said this before, but I don't understand why certain songs just don't 'do it', ya know? All these songs had the makings of something great but for whatever the reason, they just never got there!!

It's their time! :-)

John Kano - Together (Eddie Baez Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Back when they were a trio, John Kano, Eddie Baez & Rich Luzzi went under the name Digital Allies feat Rich Luzzi which spawned the mega hits "Without You" and "Where Are You My Love?". Sometime after those two songs came and want and Rich Luzzi was just a memory, John Kano decided to step to the microphone, armed with a vocoder and a dream! lol...With Eddie Baez giving it his special touch, this is what we got! It's cheesy but I like it alot.**

Zelma Davis - Power (Junior Vasquez Twilite Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**C&C Music Factory watch out!! This song is what it's title says!!**

Irene Cara - All My Heart (Junior Vasquez Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Irene gave us so much great 80's dance music that it's only natural that she would give it a go later on in life. Such was the case with All My Heart. Good effort by both Junior & Irene!! She should give it another go now!!**

Joi Cardwell - Last Chance For Love (Welcome Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**I. Love. This. Song. I love EVERYthing about it! Joi + Welcome = Magic. Come back to us Joi!!!**

Zhana - Take My Heart (Welcome Radio Edit #2) **Official Edit**
**Long before she was Zhana Saunders and belting out Alegria hits or going under Inda Matrix for a little S&M music she was just plain old Zhana and it's every bit as good as any of her music. Welcome did two radio edits for this one and the second one is just better lol that's why it says #2 on it)

Koda Kumi - Take Back (Junior Vasquez Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**This one is a total guilty pleasure. Dear sweet Koda Kumi trying to do some English music (to differentiate from all her normal Japanese singing) and I won't say that it fails, but it doesn't quite make it easily. Junior did a good mix to this but the vocals are at times are a little crazy and takes some getting used to.**

Deborah Gibson - Only In My Dreams 98 (Junior Vasquez Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**It's weird to see Junior Vasquez go through a very La Bouche phase but thus it was and it did spawn two great songs including this one. What more can I say? Deborah Gibson RAPS in this song!!**

Deborah Gibson - Only Words (Junior Vasquez Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**The other great mix by Junior! This song just makes me happy when I hear it!**

As my old friend Lawrence would say...

..."All I need is a big black bitch singin out her pussy!!"

I need no other explanation for this post. I love these women here! THIS is how dance music vocals are done!!

Barry Harris feat Pepper Mashay - I Got My Pride (Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Basically any dance song that has 'pride' in it is bound to be an anthem. It's here, it's queer, get used to it!**

Dolce - Fire (Orange Factory Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**My fave Dolce song. Where is SHE now??**

Jennifer Holliday - A Woman's Got The Power (Thunderpuss Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**There's no words for this one. Jennifer at her finest! She really is MY Dreamgirl!**

Jennifer Holliday - A Woman's Got The Power (Thunderpuss Pop Crossover Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**This is produced by Thunderpuss but it's alot tamer than the other mix. This is like Thunderpuss' Lite FM version. Still a dance beat but a little pretty as this song could ever get.**

Jennifer Holliday - Think It Over (Thunderpuss Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Another great track from Jenn and Thunderpuss!! As much as I love the edits for these songs, I highly reccommend the full club mixes on these two Jenn songs.**

Jennifer Holliday - Think It Over (Original Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**This version has more of a soulful disco house feel which is nice, but not something I really get into that often. I will say this though, go to the end of the edit, listen to the last 10 seconds. The noise she makes clearly isn't human. It's like she's eating notes by the second. How could you NOT love her??**

Reina - Anything For Love (Hex Hector Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**She may not be actually black but she's big alright and she's got a big voice to go with it. She's a mainstream dance music dream with catchy songs that make you throw your hands in the air. This one's no exception! Also, the backup singers on this one are dance music's own Deborah Cooper and Mariah Carey backup singer Mary Ann Tatum!**

Reina - Anything For Love (Welcome Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**A different take on this great track**

Reina - Find Another Woman (Hex Hector Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**It's a classic! Nuff said!**

Reina - Miss The Way (Razor N Guido Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Of all of Reina's songs, this is by far and above my favorite. Co-Written by Guido Osorio for their 'Dancefloor' CD, Reina rips this one apart with excellent production by Razor & Guido.**

Reina - Miss The Way (Junior Vasquez Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**While I definitely prefer Razor N Guido's mix of this, Junior's effort is excellent! Not as high energy as the RNG but it has some great elements in it.**

Reina - No One's Gonna Change You (Jonathan Peters Radio Edit)
**Official Edit**
**Another Reina classic! This is a gorgeous production by JP here but not my favorite.**

Reina - No One's Gonna Change You (Robbie Tronco Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Maybe it's because I heard this one before JP's but this is the mix I prefer. I fell in love with this song with this mix and even tho JP did an excellent job on this song, I prefer Robbie's tougher approach to it because it is in fact a "fuck you" type song.**

Kim English - Bumpin & Jumpin (Michael T Diamond Radio Edit)
**Official Edit**
**As much as I love some of her music, I never got why this one was as big as it was. Yes, Michael did a good job with it, but I think that Missing You was a MUCH better song and should've been a bigger hit than it was.**

Kim English - Missing You (JM's Extended Mindtrap Radio Mix)
**Tough song to edit!! There's so much of Kim throughout, so I did as best as I could and still trying to get the best parts from the song. This is a highly underrated Kim song and my favorite of all of her stuff.**

Kim English - Supernatural (Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**A lesser known Kim song. Produced by Hula.**

Kim English - Unspeakable Joy (Razor N Guido Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**This is Kim at her peak. This song was as unstoppable as it was 'unspeakable'.**

Kim English - Unspeakable Joy (Bobby D'Ambrosio Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**A funkier take on it. It's labeled as the Osio Edit when you DL it cause thats how they have it on the single, but I like to give people their credit when it's do.**

Deborah Cox - Something Happened On The Way To Heaven (JM's Junior Vasquez Radio Mix)
**While the Valentin mix to this really took over mainstream radio, I find that the Junior mix excells in the story telling aspect of this Phil Collins cover. Deborah of course sounds excellent and Junior's production is dark and dramatic which I love.**

Donna Summer - I Will Live For Love (JM's Chris Cox Radio Edit)
**This song was written by Donna for a musical she was writing about her life and times. Originally produced by Giorgio Moroder, Chris Cox took this WAY up to the next level! Drama galore and amazing vocals from the original Disco Diva!**

Pusaka presents Thea Austin - You're The Worst Thing For Me (JM's Dirty Pusaka Radio Edit)
**Thea Austin originally had her claim to fame as the voice behind Snap's "The Power" in the early 90's and thank god we had her for this anthem! Pusaka is actually the team of Chris Cox and DJ Irene who really made something amazing here. It's a shame they haven't collaborated again. I had to splice this one up because the radio edit on the single was censored when she sing "And I'm outta my head cause you're fucking my friend" and, well, how could I NOT include that?? Since I went that far, I also added the talking part at the end from the full mix.**

Vernessa Mitchell - This Joy (Razor N Guido Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Who doesn't know this one either? This is Dance Music History 101 and you don't get bigger or blacker than my girl Vernessa. Take it to church honey!!!**

Vernessa Mitchell - This Joy (Junior Vasquez Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**This song was actually in a movie. A documentary really called "Hang The DJ" which featured Junior in well as Kristine W. Even though the RNG mix was the more popular one, Junior turned out a solid club thomper as well.**

Tony Moran feat Deborah Cooper - Live You All Over (JM's Radio Edit)
**When Tony remixes a song, it's almost always amazing but when Tony writes and produces an original song, it's a whole new story. Deborah Cooper comes out from backup singer to the forefront in this one (as she did with Victor Calderone in "Are You Satisfied?") and really lets us have it!**

Pop Edits and Random Edits

Hey everyone! Im glad that these postings are such a hit...But Im gonna change the format and just post different edits instead of breaking them down by remixer. It's just easier for me in the long run...and when I find edits by people I've already posted, I don't feel stupid by not including them the first time lol!

As always, Enjoy!!

Brenda K Starr - Hold Me (Richie Santana Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**If you haven't heard this before, this will surely blow you away! I apparently am on a Richie Santana kick right now and this is sooooo good!**

Rockell - What U Did 2 Me (Jonathan Peters Dirty Mix) **Official Edit**
**Another great song from JP! There is a radio edit that is shorter than this one (around 3 min and change) but this mix was also on the single and it's about 5:40 but included alot of great stuff that I loved so Im posting this one instead. The original mix is around 10 min so it's definitely edited. The synths that come in around 30 sec in are my fave!!**

Kaci - Paradise (JM's Richie Santana Radio Edit)
**BASS ALERT!!! BASS ALERT!!! Richie BRINGS IT in this one!! The beat is a very serious thomp thomp if I've ever heard one. Even though Kaci isn't the best vocalist ever it totally works here!!**

Club 69 feat Suzanne Palmer - Muscles (Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**This one, as gay as it is, is tough to deny! Suzanne did a great cover of this Michael Jackson penned Diana Ross classic!! Even though I'm not a huge fan of this mix (the Razor N Guido mix tears it up!!) Dmvsi wanted some Club 69/Peter Rauhofer stuff, so here's one for ya!**

Soft Cell vs Club 69 - Tainted Love (Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**This one needs no explanation**

E.G. Daily - Love In The Shadows (Solar City Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**This is one of those "Songs That Got Away" type songs. This was a song that was a mild hit for E.G. in the 80's and then in 2001 Solar City (who don't get enough credit as well) brought it back for a fantastic update!**

Stacie Orrico - (There's Gotta Be) More To Life (Dr Octavo Extended Mix) **Official Edit**
**I was always so dissappointed with the mixes here. Jason Nevins and Mike Rizzo were on board on this one and I felt that they kinda fell flat. Dr Octavo, while not an AMAZING mix, did an ok job with a song I do still love to this day and there was no edit offered on the single. There is however his Extended Mix which only clocks in at 4:47 so I didn't bother editing it.**

Barbara Doust - I Found Someone (Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Yes, it's a cover of the Cher song and yes, it would've been better if it was Cher and also yes, Barbara did the best she could. It's cheesy. It's poppy. You'll love it!**

Pop Post Part Two!!

This is a continuing post from the last bunch of pop remix edits I posted not too long ago. Again, most of these are official and will be noted as such and are once again broken down by remixer. Enjoy!!!

La Bouche - In Your Life (Dezrok Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**We all know them from their hits like "Be My Lover" and "Sweet Dreams" but this song was released in 2002 which was a B-side from Melanie Thorton's solo career but since her death (due to a plane crash in 2001) the song was re-worked with vocals from Le Click's Kayo Shekoni to complete it. Dezrok really took this to the next level. The vocals are stunning as is his production and it would've been nice to see La Bouche go down the vocal house route with an updated sound.**

Richie Santana:

Mandy Moore - Candy (Richie Santana Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Even though Richie Santana has kinda gone down the dark tribal route with Victor Calderone, there was a time when he was making a living from tearing up cheesy pop records which is what he did here. Mandy Moore, even at her youngest, was given a great treatment from Richie here and is my favorite mix of this song. And btw, Mr. Santana is hot as hell as well! Haha!**

Cynthia & Sa-Fire - Can You Stand The Rain (JM's Richie Santana Radio Edit)
**Back in 2001 Sa-Fire tried to get a jump back on her career by releasing a Best Of CD produced by her old friend Tony Moran. Tony did an ANTHEMIC mix of her classic "Don't Break My Heart" as well as redoing some old school beats with new vocals from Sa-Fire as well. The cd also included a new duet with fellow freestyle diva Cynthia. To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of it, but Richie did turn out a solid production which deserves to be heard.**

LeAnn Rimes - I Need You (JM's Richie Santana Radio Edit)

**I. Love. This. Song. LeAnn ALWAYS sounds great on the dancefloor and this is no exception. Richie gaves us a hands in the air vocal anthem here which to me is where he really shines! This song is actually from a religious movie called "Jesus" which means it's actually a love song about God but that's fine. I'll take it sweet and sentimental in my mind instead lol**

Wild Orchid - Stuttering (JM's Richie Santana Radio Mix)

**This song just doesn't stop!!! SUPERB mix by Richie here!! It's completely loaded with some great synths and it's interesting to hear Fergie before Fergie was Fergie lol She was one of the members of this girl group. Hint: The big note in the buildup? That's her! And this time, she isn't spelling it out.**

Enrique Iglasias - Be With You (Thunderpuss Radio Edit) **Official Edit**

**Alright. This is a guilty pleasure. This was one of those mixes where I felt like Thunderpuss was going for something a little more trancey. Different sound for The Puss but I liked it!**

Jennifer Lopez - Feelin So Good (Thunderpuss Radio Edit) **Official Edit**

**There's always room for J-Lo and TP always did her well.**

Requests and Info

Hey everyone! I know it's been awhile and my posts have been less and less...

School is getting started and I just got over being really sick...Today is the first day in quite some time that I've even felt like leaving my bed! Thank God it's over!!!

As far as requests go, I'll try to do what I can but I don't see me getting to them anytime soon right now...They take alot of time from me and that's something I unfortunately don't have.

I do want to keep the blog going so I'll try to post stuff that I have that's already done, but for now, please try to hold off on the requests cause I dont want to let anyone down with thinking they'll get done soon.

I really appreciate your patience with all these changes in my life!! Here's some edits to hold you for a bit...Some I did, some are official...and I threw in a slew of classics cause Im in that kinda mood haha!

Thanks again!!

Amuka - Appreciate Me (Peter Rauhofer Radio Edit) **Official Edit**

Whitney Houston - I Learned From The Best (Junior Vasquez Radio Edit) **Official Edit**

Dee Robert - Get Ready For The Ride (NYC Greystone Radio Edit) **Official Edit**

Luz Divina - I Just Want To Love You (JM's Jonathan Peters Edit)
**This should've been on her CD but it wasn't. I don't think it was ever released and it's a shame cause it's a beautiful track. I was surprised to hear that this is a Jonathan Peters production cause it sounds more like Junior than Jonathan**

Niki Harris - Let Me Hear The Music (JM's LEX Radio Edit)
**Great track from one of Madonna's original back-up singers! Outstanding production by LEX!**

Culture Club - Miss Me Blind (JM's David Guetta & Joachim Gerraud Radio Edit)
**This is one of those times when I feel the remix is better than the original. Amazing update from David and Joachim!**

Mariah Carey - Don't Forget About Us (Tony Moran Radio Edit) **Official Edit**

Meleni Smith - Meet Me In The Bathroom (JM's LEX Radio Edit)
**Another great production by LEX! This is a really fun song that should've gotten more exposure than it did.**

Shirley Clamp - Mr Memory (JM's Soundfactory Radio Edit)
**This is without a doubt in my top 5 most favorite vocals ever!!! UNBELIEVABLE track!!! Shirley is an amazing singer and Soundfactory worked it the f**k out with this! A definite Hands-In-The-Air anthem!**

Peter Presta feat Bonse - Totally Hooked (Original Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**This is one of those feelgood songs and I love the sample of More Than A Feeling by Boston. Great song!**

Whitney Houston - It's Not Right But It's Ok (Thunderpuss Radio Edit)
**Official Edit**

**Need I say anything about this one? Classic classic classic. This one for me never gets old.**

Thunderpuss feat Latanza Waters - Stand Up (Original Radio Edit)
**Official Edit**

**An incredible high energy remake of the Magic Cucumbers classic!**

Lisa Stansfield - I'm Leavin (Hex Hector Radio Edit) **Official Edit**

Nicole J McCloud - One Good Reason (Dezrok Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Great vocal track by an underrated artist. Did you know that Nicole was the original singer of what became Deborah Cox's smash hit "House Is Not Home"?**

Olive - Im Not In Love (DJ Skribble & Anthony Acid Radio Edit) **Official Edit**

Paula Cole - I Believe In Love (Jonathan Peters Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Another song I'll never get sick of...ever. This was JP in his prime!! And what incredible vocals Paula did!!**

Tamia - Stranger In My House (Hex Hector Radio Edit)) **Official Edit**
**I fell out of love with this song for awhile because every club and radio station KILLED it. Back when I used to go to the Colosseeum in NJ (RIP) that
was the place where this song went to die lol. But since so much time has passed, it's time to let Hex's work shine again.**

Veronica - Release Me...Let Me Go (Johnny Vicious Radio Edit) **Official Edit**
**Does anyone NOT know this song? LoL! From the OooooooOOOOOOOooooooh and so on, non stop fun!**

Whitney Houston feat Faith Evans & Kelly Price - Heartbreak Hotel (Hex Hector Radio Edit)
**Official Edit**
**Where oh where could my Whitney be?? Come back to us!!!!!**
